1 - meeting Lucy in The Future (TM)
Aug. 24th, 2018 10:45 pmStarts with Cecy at a door, one of many identical doors in a sleekly decorated hallway. He looks the same age as he does now, except in perfect health, warmly dressed in a wool coat and thick scarf. He taps the screen of his smartphone -- there's a musical chime -- the door opens with a soft little hiss. The room beyond is a microstudio, the main room barely large enough to fit a kitchenette along one wall and a small seating area under a loft bed.
Still preoccupied, Cecy walks into his tiny abode, kicks the door shut behind him, and proceeds to jump about a foot in the air when he realizes that there's someone already here. Because, sprawled on the narrow couch in the little seating area, isTyki Mikk an extremely attractive if rumpled man who happens to have been played by Tyki Mikk, reading from a floppy red book. The area around him is scattered with half-eaten food and half-empty drinks.
Cecy hangs up his scarf and coat (his hands are shaking and he drops the coat twice, he has to press his face into his scarf for a moment to gather his wits) before striding across the tiny room and making a grab for the book.
The stranger, whose name is apparently Lucy, is up out of his seat in a flash, surprisingly quick, and what follows is a game of keep-away all across the tiny apartment. Apparently Lucy has been reading Cecy's journal. He seems amused about its contents as Cecy tries fruitlessly to grab it back, mentioning (among other things) that Cecy's style has changed, and that he enjoys the recurring imagery. It's not terribly original but still rather flattering. Occasionally Lucy produces a red pen (from where?) to mark up this or that page.
Keep-away eventually ends with Lucy tripping/pushing Cecy into the sofa. He sits heavily, and his attempt to get up is interrupted by Lucy sprawling over the couch with his head in Cecy's lap. He hands Cecy the journal and tells him to keep reading; Cecy refuses, his journal is supposed to be private and anyway Lucy doesn't need any more ego-stroking. This seems to amuse Lucy. He reaches up, fingers sliding lightly along Cecy's cheek (and Cecy definitely flinches before contact, just a little, as if expecting something worse, before catching himself) and then back down through the hair around Cecy's face. Gently, as if petting a skittish cat, but also proprietary, because that cat is his.
It's a relatively innocuous scene, in a shitty romcom kind of way, except for how Cecy is definitely, obviously afraid of Lucy. Even while ordering takeout for two while Lucy uses him as a pillow and pets him.
NOTABLE
+ This is Lucy and I am terrified of Lucy
+ I'm also incredibly relieved and even almost grateful to see Lucy again??
+ And my journal is full of writing about him???????
+ Nnnooooo my journal it's supposed to be private it's mine it's all I have...
+ But also kind of resigned/exhausted "this was bound to happen" feel
+ The tech and look/feel of appliances definitely seems to be post-21st century. Or at least does not seem to match anything that came before it.
+ His name's fuzzed out, standard memory regain stuff
